Omnathious Deninard wrote: My only retort to that is, unless I am mistaken there are very few low/null incursion runner fleets, ratting encompasses all of new Eden. So 30 trillion isk comes from bounties (exploration and ratting) and 10 trillion comes from incursions which are generally in high sec.
So yeah the risk vs reward is kinda off there.
They are also not risk free. Despite being 'on farm' ships including shiny ships are lost to the sites on a very regular basis. A couple of seconds of inattention at the wrong time by a Battleship pilot in an HQ site, and Logi can't react fast enough to save them if they are unlucky. The reason they seem 'safe' is because pilots are at their keyboards, paying attention the whole time, and following the FC's instructions very attentively. Exactly the situation they should be rewarded for after all.
The one change I would like to incursions is one I've been pushing for across all area's, ratting, missions, etc. Instead of Outuni etc.... you just get 'Sansha Battleship' 'Nightmare'. So you can't pick and choose your initial targets in any site, on any belt etc so easily. |

Either remove it or put more of them in so that you carry a set of ships in preparation of different needs
m To carry a set of ships with you in highsec requires extremely convoluted freighting (& therefore at risk of gank for the potential drops also), or multiple trips moving them one by one (Also potential gank risk given value of some). There is no easy way in highsec to move a couple of Battleships for various sites plus a bunch of cruisers & battle cruisers.
Therefore carrying a set of ships with you when chasing moving events that can move after only a day or two sometimes is not a reasonable expectation under the current mechanics to base mechanics on. |

Just to fix something people have missed. The Bomber spawn in mom sites already alpha's anything that isn't a Battleship off the field. This includes Logi ships. They get clean alpha'ed off the field if they get targeted, no chance to catch reps. Upping the Alpha of the wave will simply cut more & more people out, and start forcing Incursion communities to API check peoples skills for all V's & full slave sets for extra EHP. So yes, it would up the danger, but it would also cut a lot of people out of incursions via increasing the skill & implant requirements.
Increasing how fast influence fights back would also make a significant shift to incursions, especially during the spawn in process. Imagine if you could only drop influence to 50% while the incursion was mobilising, to reflect the fact they are flooding into the system constantly during this time. This does kill two birds with one stone, as the mom won't spawn so fast (but still just as easy to kill once spawned later on if someone wants to end the incursion), and income will be a little lower during this period, but a smart fleet would still be ok if they did everything right. |

50 Billion Isk in ships that I know of has been lost in incursions to PvP in the last two days. Sorry if that isn't enough PvP risk for you. (& that assumes I know of all the ships lost lately) |

(& that assumes I know of all the ships lost lately) Turns out ~40bil was actually lost to the rats, another ~30bil to gank activities and another 8 or so billion isk was lost to concord. While incursion may be widely considered safe they are certainly not idiot proof I know of two high end ships which were lost to Pvp activities. The second may not have been posted on a kill board (Or was slightly longer than 2 days ago) Thanks for the 40 Bil lost to rats figure though. Doesn't even take an idiot for it to happen either. Just someone being a few seconds slow off the mark, or a hard switch or unlucky DC. Though some is certainly an idiot also. |
